What's one thing you always travel with for races and why?
My waffle maker, pancake mix, and chocolate chips so that I can make chocolate chip waffles for prerace breakfast!

If you could design your own triathlon, what three disciplines would it include?
Point to point kayak then hop on a skateboard and finish with a trail run to the top of a mountain!

What's your favorite race-day ritual or superstition?
I never listen to music in my earbuds if I have to drive to a race. That’s bad luck. I will listen to music on the radio no problem.

What’s the most unusual or unexpected thing that’s happened to you during a race?
I got stung by a jelly fish during the swim in Malaysia.

What’s your go-to post-race meal?
Anything with a side of french fries and a soda.

If you could race anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
I’ve always wanted to go to Australia for a race. I think that would be pretty cool. Maybe one day!

What’s your favorite workout to do when you need a mental break from training?
Ride my bike in the Santa Monica mountain range and look at the ocean.

If you weren’t a triathlete, what sport would you be pursuing?
If I were better at surfing then I’d say surfing for sure!

What’s the best piece of advice you've received as an athlete?
Focus on yourself and your own individual journey in life.

If you could train with any athlete, past or present, who would it be and why?
I’d train with Jesus. I mean, if He can walk on water, He’d probably have some pretty epic swim tips! Plus, I’m pretty sure He’d turn every workout into a miracle—maybe even make me faster than I thought possible!
